Education System

The Australian education system is divided into the University, Vocational School and English language sectors. There are 41 universities that include 38 public and three private universities. The main term in Australian universities begin in January but students can also apply for the September semester. Unlike the US and Canada, students with a three year Bachelor’s degree can apply for admission to a Master’s program. Courses are recognized internationally. Education standards are higher and academic environment is stimulating, living costs and tuition fees are comparatively lower than most other countries.

Tests Required

TOEFL/IELTS/GMAT
Unlike USA, Australia does not require any entrance tests except an English language proficiency test. Students whose first language is not English are required to take the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is usually not accepted in lieu of the IELTS but some universities accept TOEFL. GMAT may be required by certain institutions for entry into their MBA program.

Visa Procedure

Any person who intends to undertake full-time study in a registered course in Australia needs to obtain a Student Visa. A Student Visa permits the holder to travel to, enter and remain in Australia for the duration of the registered course of study.

All forms must be completed in English, and documentation provided in a language other than English must be accompanied by an English language translation. All documentation must be originals or certified or notarized copies (as indicated).
